The application note 6, use of ERM certificates and materials, describes some
practical aspects associated with handling and use of certified reference
materials (CRMs) in laboratories. The various values provided on a
certificate, re-use of materials, applying a moisture correction and
interpretation of the traceability statement are also explained.

New batch of nicotine reference material certified for purity

LGC has released a replacement batch of nicotine reference material certified
for purity. ERM- AC802b is intended for use as a reference material for
checking the analytical procedures applied in the analysis of tobacco smoke
condensate and of pesticide residues and formulations. Certificate:

New batch of Roundup Ready ® soya GMO certified reference materials available

| A new series of GMO matrix reference materials has now been released. The new series, ERM-BF410k, contains certified reference materials with different concentrations of Roundup Ready® soya. The CRMs are certified for their mass fraction of GTS 40-3-2 soya (also called Roundup Ready® soya) and are intended to be used for the quality control of quantitative measurements. |

New CRM of aqueous ethanol solution (80 mg/100 mL)

LGC has released a new batch of aqueous ethanol solution (80 mg/100 mL).
ERM-AC401e is intended for use as a reference material for the calibration and
validation of methods for the determination of ethanol in biological fluids.

Soft drinking water certified for metals

LGC has released a new batch of soft drinking water certified for metals. The
levels have been adjusted to be close to the drinking water regulation limits.
It is intended for use as a reference material for use in the development,
validation or quality control of analytical methods for the determination of
elements in soft drinking water. The material may also be applicable to other
matrices where suitable reference materials are not available. Certificate:

New pure leucomalachite green reference material
|

The ERM-AC303a is a certified reference material, pure material intended for
use as a calibration standard for the determination of leucomalachite green in
fish and other relevant matrices.
