ERM coding convention
Each European Reference Materials product is defined by a unique.
The ERM® code of a given material depends on the group and subgroup it belongs to.
The coding syntax is the following:
X Y ZZZ aa
X : letter of the main group of the material
Y : letter of the subgroup of the material
ZZZ : number identifying the material
aa : optional additional letters (one or two letters) specifying batches of the material
Example: The European Reference Material 032(n-nonane) which belongs to the main group "Materials certified for physical properties" (group F) and the subgroup "Thermal properties " (subgroup C) has the FC032 ERM® code.
